For orders with a total replacement value exceeding $1,000, we require proof of insurance stating that Maritime Lens and Equipment Rental Ltd. will be reimbursed for the full replacement cost of the item.

If your rental exceeds two weeks, insurance will be required regardless of the item’s value. Alternatively, the insurance requirement may be waived only if the full replacement value is left as a deposit. we require that you obtain independent short-term rental insurance. In some cases, even if your order is below this threshold, we may still request independent insurance based on the nature of the equipment or project.

We will need a Certificate of Insurance (COI) covering rented production equipment for at least the full replacement value of the items on your order. The certificate must name Maritime Lens and Equipment Rental as an additional loss payee.

Short-term equipment rental insurance can be purchased through third-party providers such as:

Please note that MLER has no affiliation with any insurance providers, and we encourage you to do your research before purchasing coverage.

If you have your own insurance, we’re happy to accept that—just be sure your policy specifically covers rented equipment and that you can provide proof.

Please understand that, due to the nature of our business, we cannot wait for insurance companies to process claims or payments. In the event of damage or loss, we will work directly with the renter to settle any financial obligations immediately.

We enforce these requirements because high-value equipment is often at risk of theft or loss on busy sets, and the potential cost of replacement can be more than most people can cover out of pocket. Insurance provides peace of mind for both parties and helps ensure that everyone is protected.
